A little less than a month ago, the entire world waited with anticipation as the extravagant nuptials of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries made international news. Fast forward to today and the world is wondering whether or not the couple will make it to their one-year anniversary. The rumors of a possible divorce began making the rounds when Kim and her mother Kris headed to Dubai for a promotional trip. Kim’s new hubby Kris was nowhere to be found which immediately got the bloggers talking. What made matters worse was the news that Kim and the rest of the Kardashian clan were on the hunt for someone to marry Kim as a major publicity stunt. Supposedly, there were several NBA players asked to step up to the plate to marry Kim and none of them were interested until Kris Humphries came into the picture. He decided to make the move and married Kim without fully understanding what he was signing himself up for. I won’t be surprised if the two go their separate ways before the end of the year! Sad but this is exactly why getting married for higher ratings on a reality show is not the right reason to say “I do”.
Just when you thought the Kardashian empire couldn’t get any bigger, they hit you with yet another business venture. Kim Kardashian announced the launch of Kardashian Khaos in Las Vegas, a lifestyle store selling any and everything Kardashian. One of the items sure to be a big seller is the Kardashian Khaos Smokey Eye Palette which is a limited-edition palette featuring four shadows and a black liquid liner. If there’s an item out there that the Kardashian’s haven’t put their name on yet, I couldn’t tell you. Will you be heading to the Las Vegas Kardashian Khaos store?
i don’t know about you guys but I know I’m not ready to watch Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries prance around as newlyweds on a reality show on the E! Channel. It’s not that I am not happy for the couple because I think it’s fantastic whenever someone finds love. It’s more about the reality TV curse that bothers me. So many couples tried their hands at reality TV only to break up as soon as the show wraps. Haven’t these two ever seen MTV’s Newlyweds with Jessica and Nick? I mean come on. We’re already oversaturated with everything Kardashian from their nail polish collection to their clothing line on QVC to their upcoming partnership with Sears. Before you know it, all TV programming and retail outlets will be Kardashianized which means we won’t be able to get away from this kooky clan and their long dark extensions, mile-high stilettos and b-ball hubbies! I just think the best thing to do is step back and be a married couple who doesn’t have a camera crew following them around. Do the cool thing for a change and nix the reality TV deal. Trust me, it’s not worth it!
Okay, I haven’t done a reality show review in a while but I had to put in my two little cents about the most recent Kardashian reality show spinoff on E! – Khloe & Lamar. I don’t have anything against the two of them as individuals but it’s hard to rally behind them as a couple as they are 100% media junkies who are looking to capitalize on their so-called fame. Khloe is not a designer, a singer, a model, an actress or a performer so what has she done to warrant getting her own reality show?
I guess being the little sister to Kim Kardashian, whose claim to fame was a leaked sex tape with Ray J, is enough! Anywho, I feel as though a show like this only further showcases how shallow our society has become. We all know that Khloe and Lamar are looking to take over where Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey left off. It’s just amazing how little talent one needs to be successful these days. I watched the first episode and immediately knew I wouldn’t be coming back for more. No one on the show has any personality and I had no interest in their lives whatsoever. I can gaurantee that this show will be on for one season tops! I think the reality tv show genre has officially hit rock bottom and needs to go back to the drawing board in order to inspire us again.
