  • Product Review: Dr. Brandt’s Anti-Irritant Comforting Cleanser

I recently started using Dr. Brandt’s Anti-Irritant Comforting Cleanser and was surprised by how nourishing and hydrating it was. As a facial cleanser junkie, I’ve tried countless cleansers and had a myriad of results from good to bad to blotchy! To start things off, I have combination skin, more on the normal side than anything but I do suffer from the slightly oily T-zone so I tend to go for products that will help normalize my skin without stripping it completely of the natural oils. • Product Review: Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector

I LOVE Clinique! I’ve been a fan of their skin care products ever since I became familiar with them when working as a counter manager for Smashbox at the Bloomingdale’s in Kendall, a suburb of Miami. The clinical grade skin care products are simple yet effective and deliver the results that every woman desires, smooth, even, flawless skin.

This past Tuesday, I had the honor of participating in a webinar which highlighted all of the key aspects to this new Dark Spot Corrector by Clinique. As someone who slightly suffers from hyperpigmentation, this new Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector is just what the doctor ordered. I have a few small patches of discoloration underneath my chin which drive me crazy and now with this Dark Spot Corrector, I look forward to erradicating them forever!

This is week 1 of my review. I will keep you posted as I continue to use the product and by the end of the 12 week trial, I will finally have flawless skin – just in time for summer!!!!!

  • Birds and the Bees

Caring for biracial children’s skin can be a bit of a daunting task. What products do you use and should you use products that are recommended for one race over another? The answer to this question is to figure out what skin type your little one has. Are they oily, dry, combination, sensitive or normal? Next, you will need to realize that if they happen to be part African-American, they may be prone to ashiness that often results in a layer of dry skin that leaves skin looking dull. It is important to use quality skin care products without parabens and other toxins on your child’s skin. Burt’s Bees is one of my favorite skin care lines as it is certified organic and has a range of products for children that are safe and effective. One of the products that come highly recommended is the buttermilk bath soap since it leaves skin smooth and soft and doesn’t contain harsh dyes, perfumes or chemicals.

  • JolieMD – New Kid of the Block

I recently learned of this amazing new skin care line from Patrice Yursik of The line was developed by a fellow beauty blogger Nadine Jolie and two Beverly Hills dermatologists. Created for women of all races, the two-tiered system includes a Softening Serum and an Enlightening Lotion which when used in combination help erase and diminishes discoloration and other signs of hyperpigmentation while improving the texture of the skin. I am so looking forward to trying this product out as I have a few small areas of discoloration that I have been battling with for a while now.

  • Clarisonic MIA Skin Cleansing System

Okay, I am going to admit that I have this thing with exfoliation. I absolutely love to exfoliate and it’s the one part of my skin care regimen that I totally look forward to. Besides foaming gel cleansers, I would put scrubs and other exfoliators high on the list of my favorite skin care products. So, when I learned of this cool skin system by Clarisonic which features this spa like rotating brush that helps rid skin of dead skin cells, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps even out your complexion, I knew that I had to have one. A fun fact about the MIA is that is comes in white or pink and is great for travel.
