Fresh new face is back again with yet another gorgeous mixed race woman on the rise. Say hello to Chrishell Stubbs. She is a up and coming model from Turks and Caicos who is burning up runways from New York to Paris. The stunning 20 year-old got her start back in 2007 when she signed with Next Models. Soon thereafter, she got her first major break posing for a fashion editorial in Teen Vogue. As the buzz spread about this gorgeous multi-ethnic model from the Caribbean, she got booked for a coveted Levi’s fall ad campaign which only propelled her further into the fashion scene. She left Next Models and signed with Ford Models which turned out to be a great boost as she quickly garnered major campaigns and runways shows including Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier. She recently modeled for the Bloomingdale’s catalog and even did some work for the spring ad campaign for H&M. She is surely a face to watch as her exotic beauty keeps her name on the rise. Naya Rivera may not be a household name for those three people who don’t watch Glee but to everyone else in the world, she is a rising star heading for the top! As the fiesty cheerleader and Glee club member Santana Lopez, Naya has definitely made a name for herself in the entertainment business and is turning heads with her talent and beauty. The Puerto Rican, African American and German actress is a great example of the diversity that exists with the multiracial community. With her exotic looks, she is able to play various characters ranging from African-American to Latino and much more. With several film and television projects in the works, I’m sure we are just beginning to witness the abilities of this new shining star.
Ever since news of Halle Berry’s bitter custody battle with her daughter’s baby’s father Gabriel broke, I have been trying to avoid discussing the details as I felt it was a bit too salacious to delve into a private family matter that unfortunately had gone public. However, when the recent Ebony magazine feature article for the February issue hit newsstands this week, I knew I couldn’t been quiet any longer. As many of us know, Halle Berry is a biracial woman. Her mother is white and her father is black. She has always identified herself as an African- American woman which is her choice and right but now she is making a case about her daughter’s identity which makes me wonder how comfortable she really is with being mixed race. Below is an excerpt from the Ebony article:
At first glance, Maya Fahey looks like your traditional All-American girl. She’s blonde with blue eyes and has that girl next door quality that lights up a room. Well, in many ways, Maya actually is an All-American girl in the sense that she is a quarter African-American. Maya is the daughter of Victoria Rowell of Young and the Restless fame. Her mother Victoria is biracial and her father is white. She is a beautiful example of how unique our community is!
