I have this thing about Victoria Beckham. I think she is super chic and such a wonderful example of how someone could go from popstar to bonafide luxury designer without batting a false lash! She works it! Well, guess what fashionistas? She is launching a new collection that isn’t nearly as pricey as her couture line! It’s called Victoria by Victoria Beckham and it will be debuting in Spring 2012. The price point of the collection ranges from $500-$1000 which may not seem affordable to most of us but it’s a huge price drop from her other collections. She recently dished to WWD.com about the inspiration for this new collection:
‘These are the kind of dresses I’ve been searching for,’ Victoria tells WWD. ‘The perfect little summer dress, something that was fun, something that was girly, something that was easy to wear, something that would take you from day through to night.’
With the nine months pregnant Mrs. Beckham about to deliver her first baby girl any moment, we’re sure there was tons of feminine energy that helped create this new collection. Can’t wait to see what she’s come up with!
I am so in love with this new edgy cut! Selita Ebanks has always been one of my style favorites and the fact that she’s taking risks with her look makes me love her style even more. Now, I am not advocating that everyone run out to their stylist and get their hair chopped off and dyed blonde in the front. Want to know how she got this incredible look? Check out the 411 from her stylist and colorist:
INSPIRATION: A head-turning edgy rock and roll style yet sophisticated. The look is “chic with strong definition” says stylist Marshall Lin.
How to Get the Look: First, cut the hair prior to applying any dye. “Most people make the mistake of getting their color done before they receive their haircut,” says colorist Jamie Sanchez, “as a result the color gets cut out and impacts the appearance of both the color and the haircut.” Section your hair into top and bottom layers. Keep the under layer dark for definition, and with a tone-on-tone approach to coloring, with the top blonde section leaning beige. The effect is edgy, but still chic.
