  • Product Review: VBar – The Feminine Hygiene Bar Soap

Okay, so it’s been a long while since I’ve done a post on feminine hygiene. That’s because it’s been a long time since I’ve used a product that I can honestly say works wonders and is a healthy alternative to the chemical-laden options currently on store shelves. My new obsession is the V-Bar. This unique vagina soap is made with all-natural ingredients including goldenseal and glycerin, this alcohol-free and fragrance-free vagina soap leaves you feeling clean and refreshed without disrupting the natural pH balance.

Not only does the V-Bar help maintain proper vaginal hygiene, it also helps prevent yeast infections, bacteria vaginosis, urinary tract infections, itching, discharge and other uncomfortable feminine issues. The way I became introduced to this amazing product was due to Brown Girl Beauty Collective. Kim, the co-Founder and I were doing research for our upcoming October series on vaginal hygiene and Kim mentioned a local Atlanta woman who made vayjay jay soap. I couldn’t believe it! I had never heard of such a thing. Well, I went to Google to see if I could find the mysterious vagina soap lady and lo and behold, she was real.

Her name is Tanya Tibbs and she is a natural hair care specialist with over 25 years experience. She transitioned into holistic healing and wellness with the development of the VBar which was initially created for a family member who was having feminine issues. Fast forward several years later and she’s making her highly sought after and praised vagina soap for women everywhere. She will be speaking at our Brown Girl Beauty Collective “The Love Below” vaginal hygiene event in Atlanta in October. Super excited!

I tried out the soap and I am in love! It lathers up nicely but doesn’t irritate the delicate vaginal area at all. It actually left my skin feeling soft and smooth which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this product for women of all ages and backgrounds. It’s time to ditch the highly fragranced and oftentimes toxic feminine hygiene products that we have become used to and start heading towards natural alternatives that won’t compromise our health and well-being. • Beauty News: Brown Girl Beauty Collective Launches Multicultural Beauty Series in Atlanta

I am super excited to announce my newest venture Brown Girl Beauty Collective. Created with fellow beauty editor and one of my favorite ATL chicas Kimberly Walker, Brown Girl Beauty Collective is a special beauty series made specifically for women of color. This series will highlight the latest beauty, skincare, makeup, fragrance, hair and health brands made for and by women of color. We are all about shining awareness on niche brands that cater to our communities with unique products that service our needs in ways many other products don’t.

The series currently will be held in Atlanta but we have plans to take this super fun concept nationwide in the very near future. Each event will be held bi-monthy in a swanky location where our participants can come for an afternoon or evening of enlightenment, education, fun and information. What makes this series really cool is that the women who attend will get a chance to learn very detailed information about the brands we are highlighting and the particular products that we plan to showcase. Kimberly and I will give our opinions on how the product/s worked for us and will answer questions in regards to our experiences with these products.

In addition to our expertise as beauty contributors and editors for several of the top African American magazines including, JET, Ebony.com, Upscale, Sister 2 Sister, Juicy and many more, we will have a specialist or brand marketer to answer any and all clinical questions that may delve deeper than Kim or I can attempt to answer. There will be refreshments and goodie bags for each and every participant along with information on the product/s for futher education.

If you are in the Atlanta area and would like to attend a future event, please feel free to contact us at BrownGirlBC@gmail.com also please follow us on Twitter @BrownGirlBC
