• Fresh New Face: Emanuela de Paula

I love showcasing gorgeous mixed race women in my Fresh New Face segments. It’s fun to show how diverse mixed race women are around the world and how so many of them are helping to change the current standard of beauty by displaying their unconventional features. The newest Fresh Face is Brazilian model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Emanuela de Paula. The 23 year-old hails from Cabo de Santo Agostinho in Pernambuco Brazil. Born to a white Brazilian mother and an Afro-Brazilian father, the self-proclaimed “mulata” is an exotic beauty with a blend of several ethnicities and races. She got her start in the world of modeling at the age of 15. She signed with the Marilyn Agency and was soon booked for local gigs throughout Brazil.

Eventually she made her way to New York where she walked for such fashion notables as Zac Posen, Bill Blass and Ralph Lauren. Not only is she known for her runway skills, she also has a penchant for landing beauty campaigns including MAC’s Barbie Collection and Prescriptives. One of her biggest claims to fame was being picked to represent as a Victoria’s Secret Angel in the famed runway show. She walked in the 2008, 2010 and 2011 shows. With her entire future ahead of her, we will definitely continue to see this gorgeous Brazilian model representing mixed race women everywhere!
