The wait is finally over! Rihanna just launched her Fall 2013 MAC Collection! From gorgeous lipsticks to amazing eye palettes, this collection is all you’ll need for fall and winter. I cannot get enough of the deep berry lips she rocks in her promo photos and will be stationed at my local MAC counter come October 3rd to get my hands and lips on that gorgeous shade!
As more and more fall beauty and fashion campaigns hit the net and my favorite magazines, I cannot get enough of the oxblood, deep dark lip! I have to have this look as I love to showcase my lips – whether summer, spring, fall or winter. On my quest to locate the perfect oxblood lip color, I have come across this AMAZING shade! It’s MAC Cosmetics’ Out All Gorgeous – a beautiful deep warm red hue that would look stunning against smooth, creamy skin and a neutral eye.
Even though it still feels like we’re in the dead of summer here in Atlanta, the fact that fall (my favorite season) is only a few days away makes me both excited and anxious. With the changing of the seasons comes a need to change ones wardrobe, home decor and most importantly beauty routine. From skincare to hair care and even makeup, the fall season brings cooler temperatures, shorter days with natural sunlight and a tendency to go darker and deeper when it comes to hair color and makeup shades.
In order to help you (my loyal readers) navigate the fall 2013 beauty trends, I figured I would make it easy and simple with a few key trends to watch for and incorporate into your routine:
Oxblood lips are THE must have lip color this Fall. In the past, the deep reds, crimsons and wine colors have all been staples for autumn but this year, the color goes deeper, darker and much more dramatic. The best way to wear this dangerous color is matte or semi-matte. Glossy dark lips can look too vampy. Pair this bold lip with a very neutral eye and barely there cheek.
Make way for some dazzling braids this fall. There’s something about rocking a sophisticated braid with this season’s bold use of leather that seems chic and rock n’ roll at the same time! It’s important that your hair is in great condition as you want your braids to look their best this season. If your hair isn’t long enough to braid, just add some extensions to help you achieve the desired effect!
As a nail junkie, I am always on the hunt for the latest trends in nail color and nail design. This season is all about holographic nail polishes. Think futuristic style where the color changes depending on which angle you’re viewing the nail. Very high tech and fashion forward.
As we wave goodbye to New York Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2014 -we can definitely take away quite a bit of amazing new looks and trends that will be all the rage come next year. One of the biggest trends is the use of colored liners which has been trending strongly over the past two or three years. Looks like designers are upping the ante next year with bolder use of colored liners on an otherwise bare, clean palette. Think neon and shocking shades against flawless skin and buff cheeks and lips. I am loving this Marc Jacobs beauty look from the S/S 14 NYFW show. I think its modern, edgy and totally wearable.
What do you think? Haute or not?
