Discover budget friendly beauty tips from SkinBase the microdermabrasion facial
Even though it still feels like we’re in the dead of summer here in Atlanta, the fact that fall (my favorite season) is only a few days away makes me both excited and anxious. With the changing of the seasons comes a need to change ones wardrobe, home decor and most importantly beauty routine. From skincare to hair care and even makeup, the fall season brings cooler temperatures, shorter days with natural sunlight and a tendency to go darker and deeper when it comes to hair color and makeup shades.
In order to help you (my loyal readers) navigate the fall 2013 beauty trends, I figured I would make it easy and simple with a few key trends to watch for and incorporate into your routine:
Oxblood lips are THE must have lip color this Fall. In the past, the deep reds, crimsons and wine colors have all been staples for autumn but this year, the color goes deeper, darker and much more dramatic. The best way to wear this dangerous color is matte or semi-matte. Glossy dark lips can look too vampy. Pair this bold lip with a very neutral eye and barely there cheek.
As I am working on the October issue of Juicy Magazine on a Halloween beauty spread, I came across this super cool new nail polish brand called The New Black. I instantly fell in love with their ombre nail kits which come in several shades. I love the concept of an ombre kit. You can use the polishes in a traditional ombre application – going from light to dark all on one nail – painting the entire nail with the lightest shade and then carefully sponging the darker shades ontop until you achieve the desired ombre effect. You can also paint each nail with the corresponding five shades going from light to dark all on one hand.
Currently you can purchase these cool kits at Sephora stores and online at Sephora.com for $22 each!
I am loving these polishes! Stay tuned for a review!
In light of the recent verdict over the weekend, I wanted to pay respects to Travyon Martin and his family! We have a long way to go in this country before we can truly consider ourselves a post-racist society! Trayvon Martin did not die in vain, he will be remembered as a loving son, brother and a promising young man who was taken from us far too soon!
Just in time for summer, there’s a cool new manicure making the rounds. The hourglass manicure is a fun, chic way to show your love of pattern and design. Created by Naja, a celebrity manicurist and a new cast-member on WETV’s top reality show “LA Hair”, this new manicure has all of Hollywood’s top trendsetters buzzing. You can rock this look with two or three colors. I am loving this new manicure as its graphic and has dimension and creates a dynamic look that works well on all nail shapes and sizes!
