Rarely do I gush over a product when I first use it. Maybe it’s because I’m a seasoned beauty writer who has read every press release and scoured through countless emails and sales sheets singing the praises of products and collections that only turn out to be lackluster at best. Being a former beauty PR girl, I know the ins and outs of selling beauty products and let’s just say we are taught to stretch the truth a bit every now and then.
So, that brings me to my latest review and the reason I am now a believer in press releases again – Stages of Beauty Skincare! This amazing collection is based on your age and not on the hottest ingredients or cool packaging. Each collection goes out of its way to figure out which issues are the most prominent for each age group and dutifully tackles those issues which the appropriate formulation.
As a 35 year-old woman, I chose the Harmony line which is for women in their 30’s. Declining moisture and discoloration are two of our issues in this age range and boy let me tell you, from just one usage, I can already feel a difference in my skin. The kit comes complete with a cleanser, scrub and moisturizer. The cleanser is out of this world and super-duper softening. A small dollop goes a long way and it instantly softens and cleanses skin in a way I haven’t felt in traditional cleansers.
The scrub is a little power product that rids skin of dead skin cells and product build-up leaving skin smooth and fresh without that overly scrubbed feeling or look. It’s filled with fruit acids which is why it’s a more gentle approach to exfoliation.
Last but not least is the ultra-hydrating moisturizer. A few pumps go a long way to nourish the face and neck. One downside is that there is no SPF in this product so you will need to add a SPF face cream and sunblock with the use of this moisturizer.
All in all, I highly rate this kit and would suggest everyone pick up a kit right now! Great skin is a year-round trend that truly never goes out of style!
