The first time I experienced Hard Candy was back in 2002 when I was working as a Lead at Sephora at the Dadeland Mall in Miami. I had heard quite a bit about the amazing nail polishes and how the creator of the brand use to mix up different polishes to create the unique colors and textures that eventually took the brand to new levels.
One of the products that Hard Candy was known for back then was the Half Baked Bronzer which was truly one of the best bronzers on the market with its high shimmer and gorgeous bronze shade.
Last night, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, I decided to try out the latest products from the Hard Candy collection. The first thing I used was the In the Shadows Book in Gamble which is the perfect pocket-sized eye shadow palette in five stunning natural shades with a bonus mini Eye Primer. After smoothing on the eye primer and letting it set, I created a sexy smokey eye that would work great for day or night. To add some sultriness to the look, I took the deep bronze shade and used it as a liner.
Since makeup is all about fun, I couldn’t resist taking the pink shade from the Kaleyedescope duo Ab Fab and deposited it in the crease for a dash of unexpected color. The instant I dipped my shadow brush in the Ab Fab duo, I was surprised at how highly pigmented and smooth the shadow was. This duo will definitely be in my summer routine for that burst of color on the lid or as a bold liner.
To round out the look, I lined my lips with a neutral liner and swiped Hard Candy’s Mouthing Off Sheer Lip Shine in Sweet Treat which makes for the most beautiful natural lip. The shine was brilliant but not tacky and sticky. It wears wonderfully and is great alone or over neutral lipstick or stain. I am so in love with this shade and will be using it for the rest of the spring and summer as my go-to natural lip color.
